Collection: Forsyth Cheek

Birmingham, AL artist, Forsyth Cheek earned her BFA in Painting from the University of Mississippi in 2005 and is known for her expressive wildlife and bird paintings. Birds, fish, and river scenes appear frequently in her work, often sparked by quick observations or photos captured on her phone.

Her recent series, COASTLANDS, is shaped by Isaiah 40 and by quiet hours spent watching coastal birds. Pelicans, seagulls, and other shorebirds become both subject and symbol—playful, weathered, watchful, and enduring. The series explores themes of waiting, movement, and renewal, echoing the verse, “They who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles.”

Forsyth balances her studio practice with family life alongside her husband and three children, drawing constant inspiration from time spent outdoors—on rivers, road trips, and in the everyday rhythms of nature.
